These boots are truly magnificent in their comfort & their cuteness.
There is one annoying thing: the canvas band around the ankle is small, & i really have to work it to get these suckers on, but after a bit of wiggling, i am in heaven. the trick is to pull on the front of the shaft at the top, right above the top drawstring cord thing. Every pair of dr marten's boots i have worn are honestly a bit of a pain in the lumbar to take on and off for me, tho.
These Callies are even comfier than my other docs (a mary jane w/a giant, chunky sole a la emily the strange & 2 pairs of boots, one lace-up, one pull-on like these) for comfort. i have chronic plantar fasciitis but can actually wear these alllllll day w/o pain, even walking around (like during xmas shopping &c), w/o an additional arch support, & i think this is the only pair of shoes/boots i've ever had that allowed me this comfort consistently.
These are a bit taller than mid-calf for me. i ordered a us size 5, & i am almost 5'2" tall. there is *plenty of room in the shaft, above that pesky ankle canvas section (& even that has room to definitely wiggle once the boots are one). i do not need to use the ankle cord, & dont really need the top one much either. the shaft can stand up or scrunch down, however you like, & the cords will hold them in place ok. They look totally fabu with stretch leggins; have not tried jeans yet with these boots (b/c why would i wear jeans when i have leggings??).
FYI: These boots were really tight across the entire front part of my foot when i 1st put them on, but after 15-20 mins, they loosened right up & formed to my foot. so do not be scared by this if you buy these.
The photo is true-to-color. i was kindof confused by the descrip, it said something abt black, or with black, i forget, but they are pretty much a taupe & the canvas bands are tan. the taupe part FEELS like some kind of boiled wool-y suede. interesting combo of textures.
YES they run true to size (yayyyy docs makes my tiny shoe size!!) YES they keep me warm, yes they are very nice-looking & if there were other colors i'd definitely order a 2nd pair.

iv just got these and put them on they are like wearing slippers.i wont wont to wear anything else
